5k and fun run in Wilmington to raise money for pediatric cancer and the newborn critical care center.
The Liam Strong Charity Beach Run is in honor of Liam Fredric Batten, who lost his battle with childhood cancer at 6 months of age. This race is to honor Liam and the short yet impactful life he lived. Proceeds from the raise will support pediatric cancer patients and the newborn critical care center at N.C. Children’s Hospital.
The course starts at Surf Club, then heads toward Shell Island Resort and returns back to the finish line. Both the 5K and the 1 Mile Fun Run is going to take place on the beach itself. Semi-stroller friendly, most likely not wheelchair friendly.
