The Krispy Kreme Challenge, put on by N.C. State University’s Park Scholarships Program, is a race like no other. Runners begin at the Memorial Belltower on the campus of N.C. State University and travel 2.5 miles through downtown Raleigh to the Krispy Kreme at Peace and Person Streets, where they consume one dozen doughnuts. Then the hard part: running 2.5 miles back to the Belltower. The 12th annual race, held on February 6, 2016 had more than 8,000 participants and raised $195,000 for UNC Children's, bringing the overall total to $1,149,000.
This year’s race is scheduled for February 4th, 2017!
