Host Your Own Fundraising Event

Here are the next steps to planning your very own fundraising event:

Step 1: Complete our Application
Tell us all about the event you’d like to host. Include details such as date, time, location and monetary goals. You will hear back from our office in 5 business days.

Step 2: Take a Look at the Toolkit
All fundraising event organizers have access to the Toolkit. This is a toolkit of event-planning resources including fundraiser ideas, timeline suggestions, advertising tips, sample promotional materials and much more!

Step 3: Plan your event
Use the Toolkit listed above to put your event into motion. Call on your friends and family, book a venue, and spread the word!

Step 4: Host your event
We know you’ll have a great event and can’t wait to hear all about it! After your event you will need to send your donation to UNC Children’s as well as fill out our online survey to let us know how the event went. You can then consider making your fundraiser an annual event.

Step 5: Make a difference
Every amount raised from a fundraising event is one that makes a difference. Your hard work helps ensure that UNC Children’s continues to provide world class health care to all children throughout the state of North Carolina.

Important Reminders:

  • Please review what UNC Children’s can and can’t do for your Community Fundraising Event. This information is listed in the Toolkit and here.
  • Please also review our official guidelines. Our goal is to ensure the best possible outcome for your event by approaching donors in the community in a coordinated fashion. Please read our community fundraising event guidelines listed in the Toolkit before committing to hosting a fundraising event.

What are some other fundraising event ideas?

  • 5K Race
  • Lemonade Stand
  • Pumpkin Patch
  • Bake Sale
  • Garage Sale
  • Restaurant Benefit Night
  • And many more! No event is too big or too small to be a community fundraising event

To Apply

Once you’ve read through the official guidelines and have an idea for an event, please proceed to our Community Fundraising Event Application. You will need to submit your application in advance of your event for approval by the UNC Children’s team.
