Scott Elton, MD, FAANS, FAAP
Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery
Professor of Neurosurgery
Dr. Elton is available to see patients for new and return appointments at four locations across the state. Dr. Elton received a BA degree from Brandeis University and an MS degree from Georgetown University before earning his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
Dr. Elton completed an internship in general surgery, a residency in neurosurgery at Ohio State University Medical Center and a fellowship in pediatric neurosurgery at Children’s Hospital of Alabama. Board certified in both neurosurgery and pediatric neurosurgery, Dr. Elton is currently a Clinical Professor and Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery at UNC Chapel Hill

Kimberly M. Hamilton, MD, FAANS

Dr. Hamilton sees patients at UNC Hospitals Children's Specialty Clinic (Neurosurgery). Dr. Hamilton received a BS degree from Valparaiso University and a medical degree from Indiana University.
Dr. Hamilton completed an internship in neurosurgery at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics and a fellowship in pediatric neurosurgery at Emory University. Dr. Hamilton is board certified in Neurological Surgery.

Ms. Hildebrand is a certified acute care pediatric nurse practitioner and Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse (CNRN). She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her Master of Science in Nursing in Acute Care Pediatric Nursing from Duke University.
She currently serves as a pediatric acute care nurse practitioner and clinical instructor in pediatric neurosurgery at UNC Health, where she provides specialized care to children with complex neurosurgical conditions and contributes to the education of learners in pediatric neuroscience care.
